Our planroom information is available through the weekly Construction News Bulletin
and daily fax updates. The Construction News Bulletin contains information about projects in the bidding stage as well as projects that have not yet been released for bidding.
Project details include
owner/architect and bidder
addresses, telephone and fax numbers, project descriptions, due dates, estimated costs,
addendum arrivals, and bid results.

Planroom on the Internet
|
In addition to accessing the news, the Planroom on our web-site allows you to
view any blueprint, specification or addendum that we have received. The Planroom on our web-site also allows you to track jobs by
specialty, and obtain information on awarded projects. With this service you
will be able to see and bid more projects!

Planroom
|
All drawings and specifications are available in our planroom for members
use during the day and may be checked out overnight or over the weekend
with prior arrangements at the front desk. Plans are also available for jobs
around the state of Michigan through the Planroom on the Internet.

Workers Compensation & Health Insurance
|
Our workers compensation plan is a fully funded program designed
exclusively for the construction industry. This program includes many
features and benefits that help reduce the cost to its users. The health
insurance program includes group hospitalization, dental, life and disabililty.
All of these programs are available to our members. Many of our
membership's employees take advantage of these programs which have
been in effect for over 30 years.

Buyers Guide
|
Our Buyer's Guide is published once a year and includes a directory of all
members as well as classified listings, trade names and advertisements. It
is mailed to all members and over 3,000 contractors, architects, engineers,
public officials, and others engaged in the construction industry.

RS Means Publication
|
The Builders Exchange will order RS Means Construction publications at a
25% discount to all members. Catalogs and order forms are available at the
Exchange.

Endowed Scholarship
|
The Builders Exchange of Grand Rapids & Western Michigan has set up an Endowed Scholarship within the College of Technology’s Construction and HVACR programs at Ferris State University.

specifications, a fax machine available to members, and free pop or coffee while you're working.

Copy Service
|
Let our copy service help reduce your work load. For a
nominal fee, our staff will make copies of the plans & specifications your
company desires. These copies can be picked up at our office or delivered to
yours.

The Annual Meeting
|
Our Annual Meeting is held in January every year. This is a
time for the membership to assemble, socialize and meet the newly elected
board of directors.
|
|
Golf League
|
Our golf league kicks off in May. The league plays at Scott Lake Golf course
on Tuesday evening and concludes with a banquet in September.
|
Annual Golf Outing
|
The Annual Golf Outing is held in July at Silver Lake Country Club. Your golf day also
includes lunch and dinner served at the club house.

Sporting Clays Shoot-Out
|
The Builders Exchange introduced this event in 1997 with great response.
Five person teams compete in a 100 target Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap shoot out at the Caledonia
Sportsman Club.

Printreading & Specification Course
|
This is a basic level non-credit course held twice a year. The Instructor, Ed Avink, with Progressive AE, teaches the principals used to read drawings and understand specifications. These elements make up the contract documents for a building. This course is taught over a 9 week period. The cost is $355.00 which includes the text book and support materials.
